Regions-Harbert Plaza

The Regions-Harbert Plaza is a 32-story, office building located in Birmingham, Alabama. The building was originally known as the AmSouth-Harbert Plaza, but was renamed on July 13, 2007, following the merger of the building's largest tenant AmSouth Bancorporation with Regions Financial Corporation, which is also based in Birmingham. The 31st floor contains the private Summit Club. The base of the building contains a retail center. Regions leases in the building, making it the largest tenant.
== History ==
The Regions-Harbert Plaza is a Class-A office building located in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. The building was built in 1989 as a multi-tenant office building for Harbert Corporation. Harbert owned the building from 1989 until 2008 when the Harbert family sold it. The building was designed by the architectural firm Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum and constructed by general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie. The building's foundation was built to accommodate the addition of a future 18-story tower above the retail area. The building also connects to the adjacent Regions Center through the mezzanine level of the building.
